    HR Advisor - Somerset

    We are recruiting an HR Advisor to join an award-winning manufacturing company, offering £30,000 to £45,000 with a strong reputation for excellence within our industry. As we continue to grow, we are seeking a motivated and confident HR Advisor to join our team based at our Henstridge site.

    Working Hours

    The HR Advisor will provide cover across all shift patterns to support the business:

    • 08:00 – 17:00 (3 days per week)
    • 05:00 – 14:00 (1 day per week)
    • 10:00 – 19:00 (1 day per week)

    Days are negotiable to ensure HR coverage across shifts – flexibility is required.

    About the Role

    You will be the primary HR presence at our Henstridge site, supported virtually by a wider HR team based in Suffolk. The team consists of a Head of HR, another HR Advisor, and an HR Administrator (who is also training in payroll). The Head of HR will visit Henstridge monthly and provide daily support via Teams.

    Key Responsibilities

    • Provide proactive HR support across the site, ensuring accurate records and compliance with policies and processes.
    • Advise managers on employee relations, including grievances, disciplinaries, welfare, and performance management.
    • Review and update job descriptions, support recruitment strategies, and guide managers through interview and selection processes.
    • Lead annual HR processes, including appraisals and performance reviews, providing guidance and training where required.
    • Monitor and update HR policies and the Staff Handbook in line with legislation.
    • Work with the Head of HR and Directors to identify learning and development needs, recommending and implementing solutions.
    • Support HR projects, inductions, training delivery, and initiatives to promote company culture and values.
    • Ensure compliance with health, safety, and environmental standards, and contribute to continuous improvement.

    About You

    • CIPD Level 5 qualified (or currently studying towards Level 5).
    • Previous HR experience within manufacturing, construction, or similar industries is desirable.
    • Confident, personable, and approachable – comfortable in a face-to-face HR role.
    • Strong administration skills with excellent attention to detail.
    • Experience handling employee relations cases is advantageous, but we welcome applicants looking to develop this experience with the support of the wider team.
    • Self-motivated, confident working independently, and keen to develop professionally.
